The value chain analysis of Next has been carried out in Figure 6 followed by detail discussions. The value creation process of Next could be grouped into two broader categories vis-à-vis support activates and primary activities. In the support activities, the organization's infrastructure that enable the organization to have superior plan and strategies that in turn enable the firm to better accomplish opportunities and minimize its threats (Parta, 2008). The human resource functions of the firm have been designed with a view that helps the firm to attract and retain superior talent in the job market. The real estate is another value-addition activity at the organization that helps in finding geographic location in different parts of the world where the firm is basing its operation, while the use of technology and IT has been helping the organization in minimizing its inventory and other inputs cost and better manage its supply chain activities (Walters & Hanrahan, 2000).
On the other hand, the operation department of the firm has been designed with a view that consistently engages in new products and designed. The purchasing and inspection ensure the appropriate quality of merchandize while logistics ensure the delivery of different clothing and other products wherever there is need (Pearce & Robinson, 2005). The stocking and shelves ensures that the merchandize are assortments are displayed in proper manner that could accomplish the point of sales objectives and better communication with the target market. The advertisement of the firm has been designed with a view that enable the firm to accomplish the communication and promotion goals of different products, while the point of sales not only ensure the customer's satisfaction but also ensure the restocking of different shelves and the supply chain activities
